Zurich North America expands U.S. Middle Market Industry Practices team
Oct 12, 2021

Three new officers will support Zurich in financial institutions and professional services, technology and manufacturing, and real estate, retail and hospitality.

Zurich North America continues to expand its U.S. Middle Market Industry Practices leadership team with several key appointments.

The new appointees will further support the Industry Practices team’s expertise for financial institutions and professional services, technology and manufacturing, and real estate, retail and hospitality.

Earlier this year, Zurich announced the appointments of the Industry Practices leaders. These new hires will work directly with those leaders to help continue to build Zurich’s position in the Middle Market segment through industry-specific products and services.

“Zurich is committed to continually building on our industry practice expertise,” said John Mizzi, Head of Industry Practices, U.S. Middle Market, Zurich North America. “The Middle Market customer relies on its carriers to know their risks, have the underwriting expertise around those risks and to be able to offer targeted products and services that will allow them to transfer that risk. Zurich has built these capabilities for our brokers and our customers.”

Joining Zurich’s Middle Market Industry Practices team are:

  • Jonathan Gerold, Financial Institutions and Professional Services Director, AVP. He rejoins Zurich from Accenture, where he was a management consultant providing strategic analysis, project management and business transformation support to insurance carriers and brokerages. He started his underwriting career with Zurich in New York City and has extensive field underwriting experience at both CNA and Travelers. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from St. John’s University in New York. Gerold reports to Stan Bernard, Head of Financial Institutions and Professional Services, U.S. Middle Market.
  • Scott Jones, Technology and Manufacturing Director, AVP. He rejoins Zurich from Marsh, where he was a Private Equity and Mergers and Acquisitions Services Project Manager and Strategic Advisor, working closely with private equity clients and their portfolio companies to provide insurance due diligence, risk management consulting and transactional resources for dozens of annual mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Marsh, he held several roles with increasing responsibility within Zurich’s Middle Market business. He began his insurance career in Claims at State Farm. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of San Francisco. Jones reports to Jon Zabikow, Head of Technology and Manufacturing, U.S. Middle Market.
  • Tina Allison Allen, Real Estate, Retail and Hospitality Director, AVP. She joins U.S. Middle Market from Zurich’s Underwriting University, where she was instrumental in supporting various market-facing manager and field-learning initiatives. Previously, she held underwriting and field sales roles at Travelers, CNA and Hanover. Allison Allen started her career as an underwriter trainee at Chubb in Washington, D.C. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Allison Allen reports to Gerald Chiddick, Head of Real Estate, Retail and Hospitality, U.S. Middle Market.
